This striking filly combines the best of Australian and American bloodlines, being by Wild Ruler, the Group 1-winning son of champion sire Snitzel, out of the stakes-winning American mare Unbridled Courage (USA). The cross of Australian speed with American toughness has historically produced remarkable results in Australian racing.
Statistical Advantage
American-bred mares have consistently proven to be exceptional producers in the Australian market. While representing only a small percentage of the broodmare population, they have produced an impressive roster of Group 1 winners including Exceed And Excel, I Am A Star, Foxwedge, Little Brose etc. To make this even more impressive, there is what we call the ‘Snitzel Phenomenen’ – Snitzel’s affinity for American dams has produced more Group 1 winners like Triple Crown’s very own Hot Snitzel, Russian Revolution, Heavenly Blue and Wild Ruler himself. It’s incredible to think that US-bred mares only represent approximately 0.83% of broodmares in Australia yet they have produced 21% of Snitzel’s Group 1 winners.

TRAINERS
Apprentice to CS Hayes and then a successful jumps jockey, including captaining the Australia team against Ireland in the International Jockey Challenge, Ciaron realised his size would deny his riding ambitions. Despite that, his love for racing and his natural interest and curiosity in training saw him commit to a career as a trainer at a young age.
Knowing you learn best from the best, he spent time with Bart Cummings, Aiden O’Brien and Willie Mullins before starting in his own right, with 6 boxes on his dad’s farm. He knows you never stop learning and continues to connect with the greats, only last year spending time with Wesley Ward (USA), Roger Charlton (UK) and Richard Hannon (UK), Andre Fabre (France) and Joseph O’Brien (IRE).
Ciaron is now very happy to be based in what he describes as the best training facility he’s seen anywhere in the world
