Progressive three-year-old Hay Street continued his impressive rise through the grades with a commanding victory at Randwick this week, producing a dominant display over 1150m to make it back-to-back wins.
Following on from his strong win at Rosehill, Hay Street showed he has gone to another level this preparation, settling beautifully before asserting his authority in the straight. When asked for an effort, the talented gelding let down in style, putting the race beyond doubt inside the last 100m and ultimately cruising to a comfortable victory.
Apprentice jockey Braith Nock produced a polished ride, timing his run to perfection and giving the horse every opportunity to showcase his turn of foot.
Trained by the in-form partnership of Annabel & Rob Archibald, Hay Street is clearly thriving this campaign. He is a progressive type who continues to be placed to advantage, and the manner of his latest win suggests there is plenty more in store as he steps through his grades.
With two wins on the bounce and racing in terrific order, attention now turns to his next assignment as connections look to see if Hay Street can complete a winning hat-trick next time out.
