Brothers Michael and Chris Ward have grown up around horses with their family operating a prominent commercial thoroughbred farm in NSW. After initially pursuing successful careers separately in the finance industry, they decided to sell their businesses and team up to follow their overwhelming passion for racing and racehorse breeding through the formation of Triple Crown Bloodstock in 2004. Since then they have become known both in Australia and internationally as experts in racehorse selection, racehorse syndication, horse racing shares and thoroughbred breeding.
Their disciplined and tough horse selection criteria along with strong business sense has seen them become a formidable player in the racing and breeding industry in only a few short years. With owners and racehorse syndicate clients in every state in Australia as well as across the world including Hong Kong, Dubai, America, New Zealand, the UK, China and Africa, Triple Crown is growing rapidly. Lotteria who won the
Group 1 Flight Stakes (by 7 lengths), the
Group 1 Myer Classic on Derby day and ran a close second to the legendary
Makybe Diva in the
Group 1 Cox Plate among her crowning achievements.
However, their most satisfying win was that of
Miss Independent in the 2008 Inglis Classic. A race they pin-pointed for her some 15 months prior and ensured the target was met. In an industry where plans can virtually change on a daily basis, this feature race win was particularly special.
